Q-Time Restaurant
is located in the West
End in Atlanta at 1120 Ralph David Abernathy. It has a rich
family history of how a father, who was obsessed with the fine art of
cooking, parlayed that obsession into three family-owned and operated
restaurants.
Fred Crenshaw, Q-Time founder and mentor, is the father of 11 children and
grandfather of 60 to 75 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr.
Crenshaw graduated from Selma University High School in Alabama in 1936.
Fred Crenshaw, Chris Crenshaw, and Herman Cunningham opened the first Q-Time
Restaurant in December 1993, specializing in all kinds of barbecue (which is
the origin of the Q-Time name). But they didn’t just open a restaurant; they
also built the shopping plaza where the restaurant is located.
Fred Crenshaw found a way to make delicious vegetables using only herbs and
spices. Their recipes are still being used today and are why people from all
walks of life and from all parts of the city come to Q-Time to eat.
